Is the mattress included with the Padstow bed?
No – The Padstow is sold as a bed frame only. This allows you to choose your ideal mattress. All our mattresses at St James Bed Centre are compatible, including memory foam, pocket sprung and hybrid.
What sizes does the Padstow Ottoman come in?
The Padstow is available in all UK sizes: Single 3ft, Double 4ft6, King 5ft and Super King 6ft. All sizes include the same huge ottoman storage and tall fluted headboard.
Is the Padstow really British made?
Yes – The Padstow is proudly British made with a solid, reinforced timber frame and quality upholstery, built to last. Not a flat-pack import.
How much storage does the Padstow Ottoman have?
It’s full ottoman style – the entire area under the mattress platform is usable storage, from head to foot. Deep enough for suitcases, bedding, duvets and up to 4-5 large storage boxes (size dependent). Much more than drawer divans.
What colours can I get the Padstow in?
Our main stock colour is Grey Linen as pictured. The Padstow can be ordered in many other fabrics including Charcoal, Silver, Beige, Oatmeal, Navy, and Black Velvet. Contact St James Bed Centre in King's Lynn to view swatches.
Is the Padstow hard to assemble?
No. The Padstow comes with clear instructions and all fixings. Two people can build it in around 30-45 minutes. The gas-lift mechanism comes pre-fitted. We also offer a Free assembly service in-store – ask for details.
Can I use any mattress on the Padstow ottoman?
Yes. The Padstow has a solid platform top so it works with all mattress types. We recommend a mattress depth of up to 30cm for best ottoman operation.
How do I open the ottoman storage?
Just pull the two fabric tabs at the foot end – the gas-lift assisted mechanism will lift the entire sleeping platform smoothly, even with a mattress on top. It stays open on its own.
Do you deliver the Padstow and take away packaging?
Yes – We offer local delivery from St James Bed Centre across Norfolk and surrounding areas, plus UK delivery available. Packaging removal available on request.
