Q: What exactly is an ottoman storage bed?
An ottoman bed is a bed where the whole mattress base lifts up on gas hydraulics to reveal one giant storage space underneath. It uses 100% of the space under your bed, unlike drawers which only use about half.
Q: Are ottoman beds better than drawer beds?
For most people yes. You get almost double the storage, you don't need space at the side to pull drawers out (great for small rooms), and because it's fully enclosed, it stays much more dust-free than boxes under the bed.
Q: What is the difference between side lift and end lift?
End Lift lifts from the foot of the bed - best if your bed is against a wall.
Side Lift lifts from the side - best if you have space at the foot of the bed. Both give the same amount of storage. We have both on display at our Norfolk Street shop in King's Lynn so you can try them.
Q: Are they heavy to lift?
No. The gas pistons do all the hard work. Even with a heavy mattress, most people can lift it with one hand. If you want it even easier, we do an Electric Ottoman Base that lifts with a remote control.
Q: What can I actually fit inside?
A huge amount. In a King Size you can fit 2 large suitcases, 4 pillows, 2 winter duvets, and still have room left. Customers use them for bedding, clothes, shoes, toys, and luggage.
Q: Are they available in different sizes and colours?
